A three-day festival of creativity of Maxim Gorky will be held in Moscow

From September 16 to 18, Moscow will host the Gorky in Gorky Park Arts Festival for the first time. More than 70 events will take place over three days: concerts, premiere performances, exhibitions, lectures, and film screenings. The art director of the event is People’s Artist of Russia Yevgeny Mironov.

The aim of the festival is to reveal in a new way the legacy of one of the most significant Russian writers, Maxim Gorky. Through art, guests of the park will get acquainted with the most diverse facets of the writer’s personality.

So, as part of the celebration of Maxim Gorky, the performance-promenade “Izergil” and the immersive performance “Summer Residents” will be shown. A plastic-poetic production of “The Girl and Death”, as well as the performances “Vassa” (based on the play “Vassa Zheleznova”) and “Childhood” are also announced.

The Bakhrushin Theater Museum will show the exposition “Gorky. 120 Years on Stage” – posters, rare photographs, sketches of costumes and scenery for iconic performances based on Gorky’s plays. And on September 18, a concert of the writer’s musical compositions will take place. Evgeny Mironov, Alexandra Ursulyak and the Moscow Soloists orchestra conducted by Yuri Bashmet will take part in it.
