Three hours later, the St. Petersburg criminal investigation department returned almost 80 thousand rubles from the lost wallet to the Singaporean, Fontanka learned on April 24.

On Wednesday morning, a Singaporean citizen dropped his wallet near the Hermitage. Camera footage shows him getting out of a black BMW and, without his wallet, continuing towards the museum. The foreigner did not notice the loss, unlike the driver of the white minibus, who successfully parked in the same place later.

The same CCTV camera recorded how a man, while taking a cigarette break, imposingly approaches a wallet and takes it for himself. According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg, the driver pocketed 60 thousand rubles, 200 US dollars, three credit cards, US diplomatic cards and house keys. The total amount of damage was estimated at 78,600 rubles.

The Singaporean discovered the loss already in the museum. Within three hours, criminal investigation officers found the driver and returned the wallet to the owner.

Let us remind you that ownerless money, especially if there is a link to the owner, must be handed over to the police. A criminal case was initiated under Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – theft.
