An exhibition of artists from the Oro Workshop is taking place in Dushanbe

--

On April 19, the annual exhibition of works by Tajik artists “Oro Workshop” opened in the gallery of the Serena Hotel, dedicated to the memory of the Honored Artist of Tajikistan Valimad Odinaev.

The spring vernissage of works of fine art is taking place for the 12th year in a row, providing a unique opportunity for artists of various genres to show their works to the general public.

“Initially, I planned to hold the exhibition once, so that the girls would come out of the shadows and show how beautiful the paintings created by their hands can be. Some paint with paints, others weave tapestries and fabric panels. And when several works were sold, and the creative intelligentsia supported our endeavors, the artists were inspired and proposed to hold it every year. For several years the exhibition was called “Guldukhtaroni Tojik”, then we changed the name,” notes Manzura Uljabaeva, curator of the “Oro Workshop” exhibition, deputy of the Union of Designers of Tajikistan.

Each participant creates at home between everyday worries about home and family, and the exhibition motivates them to create their next masterpieces. After all, every year they present new works, which, as Manzura notes, only get better.

Over the years of its existence, the Oro Workshop has helped many artists to open up in unexpected ways and served as a stimulus for their creativity. Since 2013, she has been supported by the Tajik Society of Friendship and Cooperation with Foreign Countries (TODKS), and subsequently supported by the Union of Artists of Tajikistan.

In memory of the creator

The first exhibition was organized in 2012 on the initiative of Manzura Uljabaeva and her colleagues, with the support of the leadership of the Republican Art College. M. Olimova. Then it was dedicated to Mother’s Day and the International Holiday of Navruz.

But the exhibition was tied to another important date – the birthday of Valimad Odinaev, one of the leaders of the Art College and a famous artist-sculptor who made an invaluable contribution to the development of the fine arts of Tajikistan.

Every year the exhibition was held on his birthday, March 10, but this year, due to Ramadan, it was postponed to April.

The recognizable logo, which is based on the image of a woman sculpture created by Valimad Odinaev, was designed by Manzura Uljabaeva. After all, it was he who founded a gallery for women artists in the now demolished building of the College of Arts. M. Olimova.

The exhibition, which will last until the end of April, presents works by Lyubov Odinaeva, Nargis Khamidova, Lailo Kurbanova, Umeda Mardikhudoeva, Nargiz Akhrorova, Lilia Alimkhanova, Vera Karnaukhova, Oro Sharipova, Mekhriniso Nasyrova, Munodjot Boimatova, Malika Khalimova, Madina Valieva, Manizha Izzatullo, Lola Umarova, Saodat Boronova, Bonu Kamalova, Sarvinoz Khodzhieva, Anisa and Munisa Sadullaev, Lutfiya Khakimova, Rukhshona Radjabova, Aida Ghazaryan and Irina Dmitrieva-Vann. Also this year, two works by Manzura Uljabaeva were presented for the first time.
