Today, April 23, is World Book and Copyright Day. This day has been celebrated since 1996. This day gained the right to exist during the UN General Conference on Educational, Scientific and Cultural Affairs in 1995 in Paris.

April 23 is a significant date in the culture of the whole world. This is the birthday and death of authors known throughout the world: Shakespeare, Cervantes, Vladimir Nabokov.

The main goal of the holiday is to set priorities in the development of the book business, strengthen the authority of the writing profession and create conditions for the protection of copyright.

The editors of the online Tambov.ru news agency decided to find out where residents get new books from. 156 people took part in the survey on the Telegram channel, which lasted less than 24 hours.

Only 3% of voters use bookcrossing. Another 5% of respondents borrow books from friends. 13% of Tambov residents use library services. Modern e-books are also held in high esteem by Tambo residents. Two options received the same number of votes – 15% each of those who download books on the Internet legally and those who do this in violation of the law. And the option of buying books in a store won. There are 49% of those who took part in the survey by the online Tambov.ru news agency.

Earlier, Tambov residents said whether they were ready to share blood. 191 people took part in the survey. Only 2% of those who voted will share their blood for good money. And 4% of Tambov residents participate in donor events.
