Educational institutions in the Kamchatka Territory have received more than a thousand copies of a new book about soldiers of a special military operation.

At Petropavlovsk Secondary School No. 26, a lesson in courage was held, where students were presented with a book in the form of comics, which tells about soldiers and officers of the Russian army participating in the Northern Military District. The Russian Society “Knowledge” published the collection “Knowledge*Heroes”. The inspiration to release such a work for the Russian Society “Knowledge” was the desire to tell the public as much as possible about the exploits of our defenders, so it contains real stories of examples of courage, courage and heroism of military personnel and units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation during a special military operation.

“The book was published by the Russian Society “Znanie” after a photo exhibition dedicated to Hero’s Day was held on December 9. The first photo exhibition was held in 2022, and found a very strong response from people. The Russian Society “Knowledge” published a book, it was drawn by professional artists,” noted the director of the branch of the Russian Society “Knowledge” in the Kamchatka Territory Inna Kroshkina.

“The book is interesting and educational because it was created in the form of comics. Now this is a very fashionable and interesting direction for young people. Unfortunately, modern children do not really like to read, and this book is presented in the form of colorful pictures. And the comic book format is very close and interesting for the younger generation. Many classes have already become familiar with this work. Children take it home to read, and then come and share their opinions and leave reviews. Judging by the general mood of the children, I think that they really liked the presentation of the book, so such lessons will be held more often,” noted the class teacher of the 6th “B” class of secondary school No. 26 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Nadezhda Voskolovich.

Schoolchildren listened with great interest about the fighters, whose feat will forever remain in the memory of generations. During the lesson, they learned about the courage and dedication of our defenders of the Fatherland, and saw the faces and names of real heroes of our time.

“It talks about heroes who did something during a special military operation. I have already recognized three heroes: Damir Nazirovich Islam, Damir Rashidovich Gelmkhan and Ivan Gennadievich Tselun. The soldiers were awarded the title of “Hero of the Russian Federation” posthumously,” said a student of grade 6 “B” of secondary school No. 26 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Artem Rybkin.

“I found the story of a fighter who was able to pull a shell out of his comrade’s chest interesting. It was about to explode, but the warrior managed. There were very few such operations,” said a student of grade 6 “B” of secondary school No. 26 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Vadim Kaunov.

The unusual format of the book really surprised the schoolchildren. The guys noted that comics are a great idea to interest modern youth.

“Yes, we think it will be interesting for young people. Look through the comics, look at the pictures. Many people are now too lazy to even just pick up a book, but here are bright images. It’s becoming much more interesting,” the children note.

The book “Knowledge*Heroes” is already on the shelves of every school library in all regions of our country. More than a thousand copies of the book were sent to every educational institution in the Kamchatka Territory so that all schoolchildren on the peninsula could get acquainted with the stories of the heroes based on real events.

“The book is intended for schoolchildren and students of secondary specialized education. It illustrates love for the Motherland, how it manifests itself, how nobility and selflessness are manifested. That is, those qualities that are sewn into the code of the Russian person, and they have not gone anywhere, they remain,” noted the director of the branch of the Russian society “Knowledge” in the Kamchatka Territory Inna Kroshkina.

As teachers note, teaching lessons on courage is a very necessary mission. After all, children should love their homeland.

At the end of the event, the children, inspired by the heroic deeds of our defenders, launched another very important school event. The teenagers made amulets for the soldiers with their own hands and will soon send them to the front line.

Let us add that Russian President Vladimir Putin always notes that support from the state and loved ones is a key point of motivation for defenders of the Fatherland. And the fighters must feel that the country supports them.

“Regardless of what awards they have or will have, these are people who risk their health and lives for the people and children of Donbass, for the sake of Russia. They are all heroes – that’s right. Everyone exposes their life to mortal danger, and does so deliberately. And they need to be treated exactly like that – as heroes,” the head of state emphasized.
