In Crimea, libraries are asked to remove books about the Holodomor and the Crimean Tatars – CNS

--

Russian authorities in Crimea are asking libraries on the peninsula to remove from their shelves books that mention the Holodomor, the liberation struggle of the Ukrainian people and the activities of the Crimean Tatars. The Center for National Resistance reports this.

Allegedly, such an instruction was sent by the leading methodologist of the Crimean Universal Scientific Library, controlled by the Russian Federation. And Y. Franko Sofia Rybak.

“In addition to the listed literature, the methodologist proves information about the decision of the Russian Ministry of Justice regarding the “list of Nazi organizations and symbols” recognized by Russia.” These include the Ukrainian Insurgent Army and the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists. Now the greeting Glory to Ukraine and the response Glory to Heroes, as well as the trident, are Nazi,” the message says.

“All books on which the trident is depicted must be removed from the collections,” the Center for National Resistance quotes Rybak.

Earlier, the Almenda Center for Civic Education reported that in 2023, only 197 children in annexed Crimea had access to education in Ukrainian. It was also reported that there is only one school with Ukrainian as the language of instruction on the peninsula.
