If an adult has never been interested in literature, it will be difficult for him to help instill a love of good books in a child. Soviet and Russian children’s poet, writer, translator Viktor Lunin shared this opinion on the air of the Ministry of Culture program on the Silver Rain radio station (88.3 FM) in Pskov.

“There are some parents who watch over their children and don’t let them out of their sight from the very beginning. This doesn’t mean punishing, it just means loving your children and trying to guide them in the right direction. Good people will definitely grow up in these families. Those who can read and love music. It’s my opinion. Children should have their first good upbringing in the family. But the family must put a lot of effort into this. This cannot be left to chance,” noted the radio guest.

What distinguishes good children’s literature from bad is freedom of expression and lightness. Children love to read such books, noted Viktor Lunin. “A good children’s book is not a textbook. They think that she should teach, but she should teach gradually. This is a completely different matter. You see, you write and pass on your experience to children. If your experience is good and you understand that you can pass something on to children, then you write sincerely and with love,” the writer emphasized.

Earlier, Viktor Lunin told how easy it is to become a writer in modern Russia, and shared his opinion about Pskov.
