The “celestial” automaker Jiangling Motors Corporation (aka JMC) is preparing to premiere a completely new model in its homeland. It will be a full-size frame SUV, named Avenue.
The day before, details about it, as well as the first photographs of the car, appeared in the database of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the People’s Republic of China. For Russians, this car may be interesting because in the future it may be localized in Kaliningrad.
The new Jiangling Avenue SUV is based on the Avenue Light Chaser pickup truck. Its length will exceed 5.4 meters, which will make it almost a competitor to the famous Cadillac Escalsde.
Judging by the first photos, the Chinese “frame” will receive a design in the style of other JMC models.
The car will have square, irregularly shaped headlights connected to a wide radiator grille made of chrome strips, as well as a long, high body and vertical rear lights.
Inside the car, a large digital combination of partings and a tablet display of the multimedia system will appear, which will be placed on the center console.
Under the hood of the Avenue there should be a petrol 2.3-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 258 horsepower and 400 Nm. In the future, the car will have an all-electric EV version with a power reserve of up to 501 km, the main differences in the design of which from a gasoline SUV will be reduced to the absence of the so-called “grill” in the front. A corrugated plug will be installed instead.
It is not yet known what the price of the car will be, but for the Avenue Light Chaser so-platform pickup truck in the Celestial Empire they are now asking a reasonable 135 thousand yuan or about 1 million 600 thousand rubles.
Even if the SUV turns out to be twice as expensive as its utilitarian version, it will still be many times cheaper than the Cadillac Escalade.
In addition, this model has potential prospects for ending up in Russia. Since August of this year, Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC) has been producing its cars in Russia at the Avtotor site in Kaliningrad. So far this is the Vigus pickup, as well as two cargo models.
It is possible that this list will be expanded in the future. And one of the new products will be the Avenue frame SUV.
