Sales of the legendary Toyota Land Cruiser 70 will launch in Japan on November 29
The iconic Toyota Land Cruiser 70 SUV of all times has been conquering the most difficult roads in the world for more than half a century. Therefore, it is not surprising that the Japanese manufacturer decided to release a modern interpretation of the world “legend”. In the Land of the Rising Sun, the new Land Cruiser 70 can be purchased at a price starting from 4.5 million yen (3.4 million rubles, according to the current exchange rate).
The new Land Cruiser 70 retains its classic features, but has received some new features. Thus, the front bumper of the SUV has become completely independent, which makes it easier to repair and replace if necessary. Lighting equipment has been replaced with modern LED optical devices. The car has acquired uphill start and downhill assist systems, as well as a course stabilization system and active traction control.
Land Cruiser 70 has the following dimensions: 4890/1870/1920 mm, wheelbase – 2,730 mm. The approach and departure angles are 33 and 26 degrees, respectively. The minimum turning radius is 6.3 meters. The suspension of the new product retains its proven design: springs at the front and leaf springs at the rear.
The Land Cruiser 70 is powered by a new 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV four-cylinder diesel engine with 204 hp. and a torque of 500 Nm, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is implemented according to a part-time scheme and is complemented by front and rear differential locks.
