Very soon, the Russian car market will be replenished with a new model – Moskvich 8. This seven-seat crossover will become the largest model in the manufacturer’s range and will begin production towards the end of the year. Moskvich 8, which is based on the JAC X8 Plus (Sehol X8 Plus) platform, released in 2020 and which has already gone through the modernization stage, is distinguished by its impressive size. With a length of 4824 mm, a width of 1870 mm and a height of 1756 mm, as well as a wheelbase of 2830 mm, this car features a spacious interior with three rows of seats. The Moskvich 8 is equipped with a 1.5-liter GDI turbo engine producing 174 hp. and a 7-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. Although the car is only front-wheel drive and has a ground clearance of 170 mm, which does not make it an ideal SUV, its spaciousness makes it an attractive choice in the market, especially for families. Moskvich’s pricing policy has recently been revised and the starting price of the new model is expected to be around 2. 5 million rubles. The new product will be assembled using the SKD method until the real demand for the model is clear. Work is also underway on the full production of the Moskvich 3 model, including welding and painting of bodies.
