Russian computer hardware manufacturer Graviton announced the launch of production of new generation solid-state drives. Drive models with capacities from 256 GB to 2 TB are included in the register of Russian industrial products of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and are intended for use in equipment manufactured by the company.

Solid-state drives of the M.2 2280 format with a PCIe Gen3×4 NVMe interface are suitable for use in computers, monoblocks and Graviton laptops, and are also compatible with all Russian operating systems. They provide read and write speeds of up to 2400 and 1700 MB/s, respectively, and the number of I/O operations per second is up to 295 thousand for random reading and up to 430 thousand for random writing.

Judging by the presented photo, Graviton drives are based on the Phison E13T bufferless controller and are equipped with TLC 3D NAND from Kioxia with 112 layers. The drive PCB design is similar to the reference one. Graviton claims that the drives are manufactured in Russia and the entire volume of devices is intended for use in the company’s own solutions.

The press release about the drive reports improvements to the software, which includes support for end-to-end data protection technology to maintain data integrity throughout its entire service life. The durability of the drives is ensured by overheating protection technology and a self-diagnosis and condition monitoring system (SmartECC).

“We note an increase in confidence in our technology. The launch of solid-state drives into production is a significant stage for Graviton and a demonstration of high competencies. By equipping Graviton equipment with Russian-made solid-state drives, customers receive solutions that can be trusted with the most valuable data.”says Sergei Kochepasov, product director at Graviton.
