The Chinese company BAIC announced that it has begun accepting orders for a new modification of the BJ40 frame SUV, equipped with a diesel engine and having slight differences in appearance
The diesel BAIC BJ40 received a black radiator grille, bumper and rims, red brake calipers, and a matte body paint. Available in four colors: black, white, red and green.
Engine: 2 liter turbodiesel with 162 hp. and torque of 380 Nm. It is equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission manufactured by ZF.
The car’s all-wheel drive is implemented using the Part-time system (forcedly engaged front axle), supplemented by a reduction gear and four driving modes: comfort, sport, snow, eco. The company emphasized that the diesel version of the BAIC BJ40 received hard locking rear and front cross-axle differentials, which makes it possible to solve more complex off-road tasks.
The new product is offered in a single Exclusive package. Price – 4,400,000 rubles. The price for a BJ40 with a gasoline engine starts at 4,350,000 rubles. Probably, to ensure an attractive price for the diesel version of the SUV, it was decided to sacrifice some options. So, the package does not include a light sensor, a heated steering wheel, a decorative spare wheel cover, a rain sensor, a subwoofer, and the number of audio speakers is one less – six.
