The Genesis GV70 crossover has been restyled – Autoreview

--

The Genesis GV70 crossover debuted in 2020, and now it’s time for a planned restyling. It turned out to be not too large-scale, because the corporate design of the Genesis brand has hardly changed over the past four years. But several noticeable changes have been made.

For example, after the sedan Genesis G80 The crossover has a radiator grille with a three-dimensional pattern of double diagonal rods. The family’s double-decker headlights now feature Micro Lens Array technology, increasing lumen output while reducing the size of the light sources. The bumpers have been changed, exhaust pipes of a different shape have appeared, a different rear spoiler has appeared, and new wheels with a diameter of 19 inches complete the image.

The GV70 Sport version has a different large-mesh radiator grille and more aggressive bumpers (the rear one has a built-in diffuser). But instead of round exhaust pipes, there are now less expressive quadrangular ones at the stern. Also, the Sport version sports wheels with a diameter of 21 inches.

The changes in the cabin are much more noticeable. Instead of two screens, there is now a single 27-inch diagonal OLED display, which is responsible for both the instruments and the media system. The central ventilation deflectors have moved lower and are now neatly integrated into the oval design of the center console. There are more touch buttons, although the rotating handles are retained. A three-spoke steering wheel with an expanded set of keys also appeared.

No technical changes have been announced. Now the Genesis GV70 in different markets is offered with a 2.2 turbodiesel (201 hp), a 2.5 petrol turbo-four (304 hp) and a V6 3.5 biturbo engine (380 hp). All engines are paired with a non-alternative eight-speed automatic transmission.

Electric car Genesis Electrified GV70 It has not yet been mentioned in the context of the update; it will be restyled later. But the updated petrol and diesel 70’s will go on sale on the South Korean market in May. Export will begin next.
