The producer and one of the main directors of the show is Olympic silver medalist in ice dancing Ilya Averbukh.
— You did not participate in “Ice Age.” Did you want to?
– I really wanted to. If I remember, Averbukh invited me to the very first “Ice Age,” but then I was still married to Konkov, and he didn’t like this story. He said: “I won’t let you go on this alcohol porn tour!”

The Ice Age show is a sports and entertainment television competition between several figure skating pairs. One of the partners in each couple is a well-known representative of Russian theater, sports, ballet, pop, cinema or television, far from this sport, and the other, on the contrary, is a titled professional in ice dancing or single figure skating.
The skill of the competing duets is assessed by five judges, headed by Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova. Scores are given on a six-point system in the same way as in real figure skating competitions before 2005 – for technique and artistry.
