Coronavirus COVID-19

In Russia, peak values of the incidence of COVID-19 are expected in the autumn-winter period. This was warned by the candidate of medical sciences, immunologist Nikolai Kryuchkov.

“The next wave, autumn-winter, will be noticeable. I think that we will definitely go beyond 100,000 detected cases per day. Whether it will be 100, 140 or even 200 thousand is more difficult to say, ”he said in an interview with Sputnik radio.

According to him, in September, the increase in the incidence was influenced by the fact that many returned to the cities, students returned to schools, students returned to universities, as a result of which the population density increased significantly. In addition, the doctor reminded that in late September – early October, weather factors will begin to play an unfavorable role: temperature, insolation and humidity. Kryuchkov also recalled that the most contagious variants of the coronovirus are currently circulating.

Earlier, allergist-immunologist Vladimir Bolibok said that many people who recovered from coronavirus in 2020 still suffer from the consequences of this disease in the form of a decrease in mental performance. He added that there are cases that temporary disability occurs.
