The Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in the Perm region accused its employee of undermining COVID-19 prevention in the region in 2020-2021. The employee of the center did not agree with the accusation and prosecution, with which she went to court. The employee managed to challenge the illegality of bringing her to justice, according to the decision on the website of the Sverdlovsk District Court of Perm.

“The committed violations did not allow the sanitary and epidemiological surveillance authorities to take urgent and effective measures aimed at preventing Covid-19 in the region, which led to the further spread of Covid-19 in institutions,” the court’s decision says. A disciplinary sanction was imposed on an employee at the center for allegedly violating the law and internal regulations.

The representative of the defendant in court stated that the employee of the center is obliged to notify about new foci of coronavirus in various institutions no later than a day after they are discovered. However, the woman did not notify in time about the mass illness of children in the children’s rehabilitation center “Rodnichok” in 2020-2021, thereby violating several points in the job description at once. As the court found out, information about this was not entered into the database of the center due to the mistake of another employee at the head office, who incorrectly registered cases of the disease. In this regard, the court held that the disciplinary action against the plaintiff was unlawful.
