Immunologist-allergist Andrei Prodeus said that the annual revaccination against COVID-19 is recommended only for people at risk. This writes “Gazeta.ru”.

“Currently, annual revaccination against coronavirus is recommended for people at risk. A healthy person can be revaccinated, maybe not, because there is no urgent need for this,” he explained.

Prodeus added that a healthy person should decide for himself whether to vaccinate him or not. He also warned that it is not necessary to take an antibody test before this.

The doctor noted that existing vaccines had a high degree of effectiveness against strains of COVID-19 that were at the beginning of the pandemic.

“These vaccines were sufficiently effective up to Delta. Accordingly, if revaccination is recommended for a healthy person, then with a new vaccine, which will be more specific to those strains that are now,” he concluded.

Earlier, immunologist Nikolai Kryuchkov said that more than 100 thousand cases of coronavirus per day will be detected during the autumn-winter wave of coronavirus.

Among the factors in the growth in the number of infections, the immunologist called the return of people from vacations, children to schools and universities. In addition, weather conditions such as temperature, insolation, humidity can have a negative impact on the situation with coronavirus.

According to Kryuchkov, not the most pathogenic, but more infectious strains of COVID-19 are currently circulating in Russia.
