At PlayStation Showcase 2023, Insomniac Games studio spent great gameplay demo Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Based on these frames, the channel ElAnalistaDeBits prepared the first comparison between the new game and the remaster of the first part for the PlayStation 5, clearly showing the numerous changes in visual and technological terms.
The author of the video notes that the game is still in production, so a lot of things may change before release. However, it is already clear that Spider-Man 2 looks better than its predecessor. The first noticeable change is the redone buildings with improved detail, including larger windows and their number, which, coupled with ray tracing, significantly changes the look of houses and skyscrapers.
The city itself as a whole has noticeably added in reliability. More details appeared in it, it became more filled and alive. You can also notice improvements in shadows, lighting and physics. However, some elements still need to be improved, for example, the draw distance in the demo leaves much to be desired, which is why objects appearing right in front of the nose are very striking during high-speed movement around the city.
What else is noticeable in comparison:
- Vegetation reacts dynamically to wind rather than remaining static as in the first game;
- The speed of flights on the web has become higher;
- The big innovation should be the expansion of the map – part of the demo takes place in Queens, which was not in the first part.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is coming out this fall. For the first details, see Here.
