Amazon has renewed the Fallout series for a second season, so it’s not surprising that the show’s writers have begun discussing their plans for a sequel. There were also spoilers for the events already shown, as well as a return to the theme of Fallout: New Vegas.

New Vegas was shown at the end of the first season, so a significant part of the sequel will probably be dedicated to this city. However, in the fifteen years since Fallout: New Vegas, “a lot has happened,” so the settlement began to look more like ruins. Judging by showrunner Graham Wagner, the plot of the second season will be closely related to the events of New Vegas.

With a major change in the state of New Vegas, the Fallout series shows that time in the post-apocalyptic universe runs its course and events progress. The idea that the wasteland will remain in one state for decades seems “absurd” to the authors of the series.

It is possible that more “flashbacks” will appear in the second season of Fallout. Wagner stated that the show intends to expand on past events and characters. Particularly noteworthy was the meeting between Vault-Tech executives and other corporate executives, including Mr. House, the ruler of New Vegas.

In the first season, it is implied that Vault-Tek dropped the first nuclear bomb (something Fallout creator Tim Kane disagrees with). But the showrunner noted that there is “another story to tell” regarding this. He stated that what viewers see is a subjective view, because “a lot of interesting things” remain behind the scenes.

The Fallout series itself came out earlier this month to positive reception. What’s interesting is that the new product turned out to be the most popular show based on a video game among Russian viewers, according to Kinopoisk.

In the premiere week (April 8-14), the show scored 205 “interest points” and took second place in the top popular TV series of the week in Russia. The following week (April 15-21), viewer interest increased to 287 points.

Only the second season scored more points in the premiere week.”The Witcher” (693 interest points), but is not included in the comparison due to the fact that the show is also based on a book saga. But you can compare Fallout with the series based on The Last of Us produced HBOwhich collected 169 points (December 16-22, 2022).
