The jury recognized Abu Bakr Shoki’s film “Desert Jockey” as the best film at the BRICS Film Festival, which was held as part of the Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF). The press service of the MIFF reports this.

The Saudi-Jordan-Egyptian co-production also won the Best Director award.

Won the award for Best Actor Alexander Yatsenko for work in a Russian film Ilya Malanin “Abnormal”. The work was recognized as the best actress Rani Khattab in the Egyptian film “Rat Hole” Mohamed El Samman.

A special jury prize was awarded to the film “Step to the Dream: Once and For All,” directed by Da Peng, China.

As reported EADaily, MIFF will end on April 26. The festival program included about 250 films from directors from 56 countries. Russia is most actively represented at the film festival; among the most widely represented countries this year, in descending order, are China, France, Spain, Iran, USA, Brazil, India, Italy, Mexico.
