The Russian army attacked Krivoy Rog. Dam damaged

--

On the evening of September 14, the Russian military launched a missile attack on Krivoy Rog.

According to preliminary data, seven rockets were fired at the city. No casualties have been reported. As a result of the attack, the dam – the Karachunskaya dam – and hydraulic structures on the Ingulets River were damaged. Several areas of the city were left without water. This is reported by local authorities and users in social networks.

After the impacts, the river level rose by two to three meters. There is a risk of flooding in some urban areas.

The head of the military administration of the city, Alexander Vilkul, urged residents to stay in shelters and refrain from distributing photos and videos.

Volodymyr Zelensky published a photo with a destroyed dam on his telegram. The President of Ukraine once again called Russia a terrorist country and accused it of trying to flood Krivoy Rog.

Krivoy Rog is the hometown of the President of Ukraine.

The Russian Defense Ministry has not yet commented on the attack. Moscow claims it does not attack Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure. Pro-Kremlin bloggers suggest that by attacking the dam, Russian troops tried, among other things, to make it difficult for the Ukrainian army to cross the Ingulets – further south, in the Kherson region, where fighting is taking place. There is no independent confirmation of this information.
