Memorial plaque in honor of the track and field athletes who died at the Northern Military District Denis Krupnov And Alexey Takachakov opened in Gorno-Altaisk on November 12.

According to the city mayor’s office, the memorial plaque was installed on the facade of the “Young Spartak” sports hall. The event was attended by the Minister of Education and Science of the Altai Republic Olga SavrasovaChairman of the City Council Yuri Nechaevhead of the conscription department of the Republican Military Commissariat Alexey Bondarenkotrainers Sergey Grushin, Vladimir Beloborodov, Maria Achkasovarelatives and friends of the Heroes.

“They talked about the courage of athletes-warriors, about willpower, about the strong character and patriotism of our fighters, whom they had known for many years. For the younger generation, the exploits of those who once visited this gym and trained in it are a symbol of respect and an example of service to the Motherland,” the message says.

At the end, the rally participants laid flowers and honored the memory of the fallen Heroes with a minute of silence.

Let us add that on the façade of the gym there is another memorial plaque installed in honor of athletics coach Sergei Erzumashev, who died while performing his military duty in Afghanistan.
