Most of the center of Ulan-Ude will be demolished. During the large-scale reconstruction of the capital, they promise to build new schools, kindergartens, and cultural centers. What inconveniences will residents have to endure?
Zana Tumurov, Head of the Department for Integrated Development of Territories of the Republic of Buryatia: Here we see the boundaries of integrated development of territories, these are our existing boundaries.
More than 35 hectares will be allocated for development. Hundreds of homes will be demolished, except for those who have the status of an architectural monument. They promised to repair and preserve them, and to relocate the residents. Modern new buildings will appear in place of old accidents. Those whose houses are being liquidated for the sake of city development will also move.
Zana Tumurov, Head of the Department for Integrated Development of Territories of the Republic of Buryatia: Our number of storeys will increase from Smolina Street to Svoboda Street. Here there shouldn’t be anything higher than this building, so in this part of the building there will be, I think, less than 4 floors. And gradually the number of floors will increase towards Profsoyuznaya Street, but not more than 16 floors.
The grand construction will not be limited to residential buildings. A student campus, the Baikal theater, a school and kindergartens will appear in the city center, possibly the first paid or multi-level parking lots in the republic. In the spring we even chose a concept, and in the end people approved the “Swallow’s Nest” project. True, it is far from a fact that it will be implemented 100%
Zana Tumurov, Head of the Department for Integrated Development of Territories of the Republic of Buryatia: We will certainly take into account all the best solutions that were proposed by our architects. And now, after we have concluded an agreement on integrated development, we have identified a developer. Now, with this developer, we will develop a territory planning project, which will also include an architectural part.
The main developer is a company from Moscow “Pik-invest”. In the near future, she will receive an advance in the amount of half a billion rubles for the construction of houses.
Elena Stepanova, representative of Peak Invest OJSC (Moscow): It is very important for us to bring here the quality of life that we create in the large cities where we are already located. And we see special value in Ulan-Ude precisely in giving the city new life, giving the city center new life, while preserving its culture, history and local flavor.
The infrastructure will also be given new life. There are plans to begin the reconstruction of water supply networks.
The water pipe will run along the entire Smolina Street, which means that next year this roadway will be blocked.
They promise to finish it within two years. The entire road will not be blocked at once; the roadway will be divided into sections. They will also dig up Kalandarishvili Street to install a sewer system. The cost of these works alone is estimated at 4 billion rubles. The reconstruction of the entire area, at the most conservative estimates, will cost more than 30 billion rubles.
