Regional prosecutor Konstantin Zhilyakov approved the indictment against the ex-deputy head of the department for labor migration of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs. The former police officer is accused of receiving bribes amounting to more than 2.5 million rubles. The Kaluga prosecutor’s office reported this on November 21.

According to investigators, the accused, while occupying a leadership position, repeatedly received bribes for assistance in issuing temporary residence permits for migrant workers.

The prosecutor’s office noted that the accused also facilitated the issuance of patents to foreigners for temporary work activities on the basis of fake medical reports.

The criminal case will be sent to court.
