Photographer Alexander Popov failed to increase the amount of compensation from the permanent leader of the Leningrad group Sergei Shnurov in the Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeal for the illegal use of his photo in the group’s video, RIA Novosti writes.
The court decided to uphold the decision of the previous instance, which ordered the musician to pay the photographer 60 thousand rubles. Popov demanded 1.2 million rubles in compensation for copyright infringement, as well as 200 thousand rubles for moral damages.
Now the decision of the first instance has entered into legal force.
In June, Popov filed a lawsuit with the Moscow Arbitration Court in connection with the use of his photograph of the SSJ100 aircraft in the video “Our Economy” by the Leningrad group.
Earlier it was reported that Sergei Shnurov intends to sue the organizers over the canceled concert at Luzhniki.
