A court in Nizhny Novgorod banned the operation of a private Yak-18T aircraft due to the lack of permits. This was reported by the Volga Transport Prosecutor’s Office on February 20, 2024.

According to the information, the Nizhny Novgorod transport prosecutor’s office, when checking the airfield of the Nizhny Novgorod DOSAAF Aeroclub of Russia, found violations. Thus, in May 2023, a private aircraft Yak-18T, which was not registered in the manner prescribed by law and was operated without the necessary certificates, was allowed to perform forest aviation work at the airfield.

The prosecutor filed a lawsuit to ban the flights of this aircraft until the violations are eliminated. The Leninsky District Court satisfied the requirements.

In addition, according to materials from the prosecutor’s office, the MTU Rostransnadzor for the Volga Federal District fined the owner and pilot under Part 2 of Art. 11.4 and parts 4 – 6, 8 art. 11.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation for a total of 68 thousand rubles.

Let us remind you that earlier the court, at the request of the transport prosecutor’s office, declared illegal the decision of the Federal Antimonopoly Service to purchase forests in the Nizhny Novgorod region for aerial monitoring.

The OFAS made this decision based on a complaint from the Nizhny Novgorod flying club. The Antimonopoly Agency considered the requirement that the contractor must have an operator’s certificate for the type of work “Forest and aviation work” unnecessary.

Let us also recall that in October 2023, the prosecutor’s office reported that the court, based on her claim, banned the operation of a private An-28 aircraft in the Nizhny Novgorod flying club.
