On Innovator Day – April 21 – the final of the second stream of the Academy of Innovators took place in the Lomonosov cluster. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin spoke about this in his Telegram channel.
“The acceleration program to support start-up entrepreneurs has been running since 2021. It includes expert support for developing ideas and finalizing entrepreneurial projects, and also provides access to customers and investors,” said the head of the city.
According to the mayor, the popularity of the Academy of Innovators is constantly growing. The number of people wishing to take part in the second wave increased four times compared to the first – over 6.4 thousand people registered. More than half of the participants are university graduates or senior students. The 100 best projects were selected.
“The most popular areas of projects: IT, mechanical engineering and instrument making, neural networks for optimizing business processes and high-tech medicine. Based on the results of the second stream, participants in the Academy of Innovators created 45 new startups, concluded major deals worth 35 million rubles and attracted a total of 60 million rubles in investments,” shared Sergei Sobyanin.
Since the start of the updated program, in July 2023, more than 14 thousand people and 2,300 projects have entered the startup ecosystem, and over 130 new technology companies have been created. More than 35 participants began testing their products on city and business sites, 55 developments have already found customers.
