In Volgograd, those responsible for the monument to the participants of the Northern Military District were named

In Volgograd, an organizing committee has been selected that will deal with the creation of a monument to the participants of the Northern Military District. As V102.RU reports with reference to the draft resolution of the governor of the Volgograd region, the organizational structure will be headed by the first deputy head of the region, Alexander Dorzhdeev, and his deputies will be the head of Volgograd, Vladimir Marchenko and Anna Pisemskaya.

In addition, the organizing committee will include Anatoly Barankevich, head of the committee of the regional branch of the public organization of veterans of the Russian Armed Forces, chairman of the regional Duma Alexander Bloshkin, chairman of the regional branch of the Russian Military Historical Society Viktor Vasilevsky, Igor Vorobyov, member of the SVO, State Duma deputy Andrei Gimbatov and a number other officials and public figures.

Also, the issue of creating a monument will be taken up by the relatives of the deceased participants of the North Military District – Iraida Zorina, mother of Hero of Russia Denis Zorin, and Anna Moiseenko, widow of serviceman Alexei Moiseenko.

Let us remind you that Governor Andrei Bocharov came up with the idea of ​​perpetuating the memory of the heroes of the Northern Military District in October last year. And in early April, at the foot of the Motherland on Mamayev Kurgan, a solemn ceremony was held to open the foundation stone at the site of the future monument.

The administration of the Volgograd region previously explained that the image of the future monument will be chosen based on the results of an all-Russian competition of conceptual designs, in which sculptors and architects, as well as students and representatives of other creative professions, will take part.
