A resident of Chelyabinsk was convicted of hitting a teenage electric scooter driver.
As RIA Novy Den was informed by the press service of the Chelyabinsk Region Prosecutor’s Office, the Traktorozavodsky District Court of Chelyabinsk found a 40-year-old city woman guilty of violating traffic rules, which negligently resulted in the infliction of grievous harm to human health.
The accident occurred on March 29 last year. In the evening, a Chelyabinsk resident was driving along Kulibina Street in a Nissan Juke. Losing control due to fatigue, she hit a curb. After that, the car flew onto the sidewalk and hit an electric scooter driven by a 14-year-old teenager.
As a result of the accident, the young man and the teenager traveling with him received injuries classified as grievous bodily harm.
The court sentenced the woman to two years of restriction of freedom, depriving her of the right to drive vehicles for two years.
In addition, she will have to pay the teenagers 500 thousand rubles each as compensation for moral damage. She will have to pay another 25 thousand rubles to each of the parents of the victims.
