In Tyumen, students are planning to launch the production of shooting clays. TIU students developed a project for the renovation of the sports shooting club “Steel Passion”.

Students of the TIU Construction Institute received prizes at the International Competition of Scientific and Business Projects “Young Innovators”. Thanks to the development of the project by Georgy Filimonov, Andrey Zhidaykin and Arina Anisimova, an industrial technology park with tourism, sports and educational infrastructure may appear in Tyumen.

The Sporting verpakung team took second place in the thematic direction of the “Successful Solution” competition. It presented projects in the field of implementation of business ideas and entrepreneurship. The project of Tyumen students is to renovate the territory of the sports shooting club “Steel Azart” with the arrangement of modern sites for shooting ranges, hotels and camping sites.

In addition, the authors of the project proposed to launch the production of shooting plates on the territory of the complex. The guys have been working on the concept for more than a year under the guidance of Associate Professor Larisa Filimonova. Project manager Georgy explained that the only domestic manufacturer of clay pigeon targets is located in Lipetsk. It is significantly removed from the competition venues, and therefore has to endure logistics costs. In addition, the intensity of development of skeet shooting as one of the types of modern Olympic Games is hampered by the lack of competition and, as a consequence, the high cost of targets. The authors of the project propose to launch the production of targets in Tyumen, using environmentally-resource-saving technology. They want to make plates from clay, the reserves of which are quite significant in the region. While Lipetsk competitors use metallurgical waste as raw materials.

– Having studied domestic and foreign patent practice, as well as international experience in producing clay targets, we created our own recipe according to which the plate will consist of 80% clay, but have the strength required by GOST. This recipe assumes complete decomposition of used raw materials and minimal impact on the environment, – shared the project manager.

The students discussed the concept of launching target production with the management of the complex and received their approval. Currently, students of the Tyumen Construction Institute are planning to apply for a grant and conduct laboratory experiments on the production of a target plate. The authors of the project believe that a target shooting facility with its own target production will help attract athletes, youth and tourists to the regional capital, and will also provide an opportunity to obtain the status of a site for international competitions.

The competition jury noted the depth of the research into the problem and the elaboration of the design hypothesis, as well as the originality of the proposed solution, reported the Department of Media and External Communications of the TiU.

In total, more than 30 teams from Russia and the Republic of Belarus took part in the competition. Participants presented original projects showing the modern view of young people on solving problems related to the development of entrepreneurship in cities and regions, technological development of the oil and gas industry and the defense industry, as well as the digital economy.
