Governor Sergei Sitnikov discussed with Tatyana Moskalkova the organization of the work of the regional office of the commissioner and support for the participants in the special operation, the press service of the head of the region reports.

In the Kostroma region, special attention is paid to these issues. A targeted approach to studying the needs and providing assistance to SVO participants and their family members has been provided.

From the first days of the special military operation, the office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Kostroma Region was actively involved in providing assistance to military personnel and members of their families. All issues are resolved in cooperation with the regional administration, the military prosecutor’s office, and the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation. The most common requests are to establish the whereabouts of a fighter, provide medical assistance, and resolve social and domestic issues.

Also, a council for the development of civil society has been created in the Kostroma region. Its main task is to develop comprehensive expert proposals to protect the rights and interests of people. Experts in various industries, ombudsmen and heads of leading public associations in the region are involved in this work. Based on the proposals of the council in the Kostroma region, it was possible to resolve a number of issues related to the protection of the legal rights of residents of the region – expanding preferential categories of citizens to receive free legal assistance, ensuring the rights and safety of children and youth, teaching financial literacy to the older generation, and more.

Currently, special attention is paid to the issues of socialization of soldiers returning from special operations. A working group has been created under the Council for the Development of Civil Society on issues of respecting the rights of military personnel and members of their families.
