According to the regional prosecutor’s office, the Moskovsky District Court of Ryazan considered a criminal case against a Ryazan resident accused of stealing property causing significant damage to a citizen (clause “a”, part 2, article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
It was established that in May 2023, a man snuck into one of the construction structures, knowing that there was a gasoline power plant there, and decided to steal it. He loaded the power station into the car and drove away.
It was established that the man committed the theft during the period of parole under a previous court sentence for a similar crime.
The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, found him guilty and sentenced him to 2 years of imprisonment to be served in a maximum security colony. The court’s verdict did not enter into legal force.
