Yesterday, April 23, in Samara, the Department of Municipal Economy and Ecology raised questions of preparedness for the rise in water levels in the Volga, which is expected on April 26 in connection with a significant discharge of water at the Zhigulevskaya hydroelectric station.
Last week, staff exercises took place, which modulated various scenarios and the readiness of the relevant services. Special centers for evacuation of citizens from flooded areas have been created in each district. There they will be able to receive first aid, water, food and a roof over their heads in case their home is struck by a natural disaster.
All threatened areas were identified in advance and reminders were distributed to residents in case of unforeseen situations, where to call and where to run. Currently, the water level in the Volga is 31.8 mBS. This level is quite safe. It is assumed that the water can rise to 32.15-32.4 mBS, which is also not critical, reports SamRu.
