Denis Kashirskikh, the head of a contracting organization that annually fights ticks in parks, recalls that the weather was unlucky about 4 years ago, it was raining. But last year, this year the temperature was suitable and there was no precipitation.

Denis Kashirskikh, head of Urban Sanitation LLC: “Basically, we start when the temperature is stable, from 10 to 20 degrees. When there is no precipitation. And it is advisable to do this when the grass slowly begins to emerge.”

The drug used to treat paths and forests is made in India. The active substance – cypermethrin – easily penetrates the integument of insects, causing paralysis and death. Moderately toxic upon contact with humans. However, walking in the park during the treatment period and for 24 hours after is not recommended.

Alena Rybalko, director of the Stepanov Park: “They passed through the central part of the park. At the moment, they have gone down closer to the lower cafe and are exploring the forest area.”

By the way, the specialists who carry out the treatment give vaccinations before starting. If a tick is found after work, it is taken to the laboratory for analysis.

Denis Kashirskikh, head of Urban Sanitation LLC: “Today we are treating ticks because after winter, well, hibernation… they are always starving. They are very active on animals and people. And therefore it is always necessary to carry out the treatment the sooner, the better.”

The parks are treated again in the fall, when ticks are preparing for winter and trying to stock up on so-called food.

Alena Rybalko, director of the Stepanov Park: “Today we will process. After a certain number of days. About a week later, he is already looking at the weather. He comes and checks. White flags are special. He walks across the lawns. And he looks at what is left there, no. The ticks should cling to this white fabric.”
