This summer, Saratov road workers plan to complete construction on a number of important road facilities – Romantikov Street in the Lastochkino residential complex in the Leninsky district, Yubileinaya Street, the highway to the village of Raskovo and some others, as well as complete the repair of 11 sections of highways, seven of which are under construction are already underway.
This was announced at today’s meeting of the standing commission on urban management, urban planning, architecture, transport, communications and trade of the Saratov City Duma by the chairman of the city committee of road management, improvement and transport Igor Pozdnikin.
Also in Saratov, measures will be taken to maintain and modernize 416 traffic light facilities and install duplicate road signs on the approaches to schools.
During the discussion of the report presented by the official, the deputy Victor Markov drew attention to violations committed by road workers, such as “unmaintained slopes” and violation of “road geometry.”
As an example, Markov cited a problematic intersection in the Glebuchevo ravine, where a puddle that formed next to a storm drain destroyed the asphalt. “The slope there is not maintained, so the storm drain is not capable of receiving this water,” Markov explained.
“There is already a solution. In the summer, we, Vodostok and the contractor who did this work will go out there and eliminate the violation,” Igor Pozdnikin promised.
Also, according to the deputy’s observations, on Radishchev, Gorky and other central streets of the city, all pedestrian crossings lead into a puddle. “After the rain there is a low level. Can this be fixed somehow?” – asked the people’s representative.
The official promised that in the future such points will be taken into account during repairs in order to prevent the road surface from being lowered.
“It’s impossible to leave Ivolgin. In the morning the traffic light is set for thirty seconds for exit, and the rest of the time – for eighteen. Yesterday I left Ivolgin exactly 37 minutes,” the deputy complained Marina Evsyukova.
MP Andrey Aksenov advised the road workers to move the time when vacuum cleaners go to work in the Zavodskoy district from the morning hours to the night hours, since during rush hours road equipment impedes vehicular traffic. “The cars are driving, swearing. The equipment throws this dirt directly onto the cars. In Soviet times, they went out at four in the morning and watered them,” Aksenov recalled.
In turn, the deputy Yuri Erofeev criticized the state of the entrance to Saratov from the Volsky tract. “Ninety percent of people who fly from Gagarin airport enter Saratov along the Volsky tract. These fifty meters of broken road create a serious traffic jam and emergency situations. There are stalls on Tarkhova Street, which further impede traffic,” the people’s representative was indignant.
“This is a regional site,” Pozdnikin responded.
“But this is the face of the city. It’s just a shame. It’s broken, like after a bombing,” Erofeev complained.
