In 2024, Russians can expect pleasant changes in the May holiday schedule. The government has decided to increase the number of days off to give the population more opportunities to enjoy their spring holidays.
Innovations in the May calendar:
- April 27 (Saturday) has been moved to April 29 (Monday). This means that instead of one day off on Saturday, Russians will get three days off in a row: April 28, 29 and 30.
- April 30 (Tuesday) has been moved from November 2 (Tuesday). Thus, the first part of the May holidays will last four days: from April 28 to May 1.
- May 10 (Friday) will be a day off. Instead, the Russians will work on Saturday, January 6.
- The second part of the May holidays will last from May 4 to May 12. This means that after the working days of May 2 and 3, Russians will have another 9 days off.
As a result, the May holidays of 2024 will consist of two parts:
- First part: April 28, 29, 30 and May 1.
- Second part: May 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.
The total duration of the May holidays will be 16 days. This is 2 days more than in 2023.
It is important to note:
- The specific work and rest schedule may vary depending on the employer. It is recommended to clarify information about your work schedule for the May holidays with your immediate supervisor.
- In some regions of Russia, additional days off may be established. Information about regional holidays can be found on the official websites of government authorities.
Additional recreational opportunities:
- Postponement of days off allows Russians to plan longer trips and trips.
- Additional days off can also be used for gardening work, household chores, or simply for rest and relaxation.
