The museum of the ancient left-bank village of Bugry will open this coming Friday in the Bugrinsky microdistrict of the Kirovsky district of Novosibirsk. Local community activists installed the museum-hut at the beginning of the main street of the former village – Tula, on the left bank of the Tula River. This is approximately the place where the founders of Bugrov, Gerasim Bykov and his brother, moved from Krivoshchekov at the end of the 18th century. They began to build their village three miles from the volost village. Guests are expected to attend the official opening of the Bugrov Museum on April 26.

The Bugrov Museum is a completely public initiative. It was created by local residents on their own. They assembled a collection for the exhibition themselves, built a hut with their own money – there was simply no suitable premises for the museum in the Bugrinsky microdistrict.
“We prepared for the opening of the museum for a long time and scrupulously. Many families of old residents of our Bugrinsky microdistrict were involved in collecting materials. Residents brought the things of their great-grandparents to collect all possible information about their past and preserve the history of this place. All this played a huge role in preserving the memory of relatives and one’s roots,” writes the chairman of the Bugrinsky Committee, Anton Nelidov, in the public organization’s public page.

Anton Nelidov is a fifth generation native of Bugry. For several years now, together with his like-minded people, he has been studying the history of the village – communicating with old-timers, collecting old family photographs, documents, household items and clothing of his ancestors. As a result, Bugrin social activists managed to assemble a collection of several hundred household items that village residents used from the end of the 18th century to the 70s of the 20th century.
The Bugrov Museum is located at st. Tulskaya, 7. Opening starts at 14:00.
