By January, the Register of SMEs in the Kaluga Region already contained 43,115 entries, reports the Regional Business Development Agency, citing data from the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
Of these, only 36 enterprises had a note about the social nature of their business, that is, 0.08%. And if we compare their share in the region with the total number of similar companies and entrepreneurs in Russia, then it is only 0.33%.
However, the popularity of social entrepreneurship in the country is growing. Such entities earned 102 billion rubles over the year. Moreover, over 70% of them are women. They are mainly involved in projects in the field of education (30%), healthcare and social services (23%), culture, sports and leisure (17%).
In the Kaluga region, support for social entrepreneurs is provided through the “My Business” Service Center. Subsidies, grants and various preferences are provided for them.
Earlier, a delegation of Kaluga entrepreneurs visited Kaliningrad on a business mission. The trip was organized under the national project “Small and Medium Enterprises”.
