The event is timed to coincide with City Day and, according to tradition, will take place along picturesque routes in the Primorsky Victory Park. Distances – 5 or 10 km. And for young running enthusiasts aged 5 to 14 years, children’s starts for 500 and 1000 meters will be organized.

TO HELP CHILDREN

In 2023, more than 1,600 professional and amateur athletes from 16 to 80 years old from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Belarus and 59 cities of Russia took part in the “Running with a Diary” race. One of the finishers was a regular participant in the race, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Dmitry Panov.

“We must pay tribute to the St. Petersburg Diary – it concentrated a thinking audience around itself. Running with like-minded people is both easier and more enjoyable. Therefore, “Running with the Diary” is a race in very good company,” noted Dmitry Panov.

St. Petersburg will once again celebrate its 321st birthday with a stylized Peter the Great race, which will be held as part of the “Running with the Diary” charity race. The flash mob starts exactly at noon in Primorsky Victory Park. Several dozen townspeople dressed as the emperor will run a special distance of 352 meters – in honor of the birthday of Peter the Great, who was born 352 years ago.

NOT JUST SPORT

“Last year I ran with my son Igor, he is a professional track and field athlete, he is 15 years old, he studies at the Athletics Academy. This year my youngest daughter Margarita, who is 11 years old, will join us. They apply face painting to us, draw a mustache and explain that our role is not limited only to sports participation. We must communicate with the guests of the holiday, take photographs, know and be able to tell the history of our hometown,” noted Svetlana Pavlova, a regular participant in the race.

She works as a controller at the Chernaya Rechka metro station.

“Last year we ran 320 meters. To be honest, the distance is not difficult, it is accessible to every family member,” noted Svetlana.

Participation in the Peter the First race is free, you just need to register. Historical costumes will be given to everyone.
