More than 20 countries are participating in the International Forum on Combating Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism at the Nizhny Novgorod Fair on April 24. As a NIA Nizhny Novgorod correspondent reports, this was stated by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin.

The forum is attended by about 400 representatives of financial intelligence, scientific society, and law enforcement agencies.

“In the current international situation, Russian regions and municipalities need to cooperate with friendly BRICS countries to achieve national economic goals. These countries have great market and scientific potential. The government of the Nizhny Novgorod region pays great attention to cooperation with these countries,” Gleb Nikitin emphasized.

The head of the region added that in light of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall on March 22 in the Moscow region, the leadership of the BRICS countries in developing a unifying course for the formation of a multipolar system of interstate relations is now in great demand.

“They must be based on international law and the key principles of the UN Charter,” the governor explained.

Earlier it was reported that Nizhny Novgorod will become the meeting place for the foreign ministers of the BRICS countries in 2024.
