Dozens of searches related to the criminal case of Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov are being carried out in several regions of Russia at once. RBC reported this on April 24, citing a source familiar with the investigation.

The publication’s interlocutor claims that FSB officers work at facilities in the Krasnodar and Stavropol territories. It is clarified that investigative actions have been ongoing since Tuesday evening until now. According to the source, the searches are carried out by employees of the FSB counterintelligence department. Who exactly the security forces came to is not disclosed.

Timur Ivanov was detained the night before, as TASS writes, right at his workplace. He was charged with receiving a bribe on an especially large scale (part 6 art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Ivanov did not admit his guilt. On Wednesday, the deputy defense minister was taken into custody. According to investigators, Ivanov entered into a criminal conspiracy with third parties in order to receive a bribe on an especially large scale when carrying out contract and subcontract work for the needs of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The amount is not disclosed.
