The event corresponds to the goals and objectives of the national project “Culture”, initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin. This year’s Bolshakov readings are timed to coincide with the most important dates for the history of Russia and the Orenburg region: the 90th anniversary of the Orenburg region, the 280th anniversary of the Orenburg province, the 450th anniversary of the seniority of the Orenburg Cossacks, the 250th anniversary of the adoption of “Institutions for governing the provinces of the All-Russian Empire“, 100th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Orenburg resident, honorary citizen of the city of Orenburg L.N. Bolshakov, the 70th anniversary of the beginning of the development of the Orenburg virgin lands.
About 200 specialists will take part in the conference, including more than 80 doctors and 90 candidates of sciences from Russian scientific centers. The program also features specialists from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
During the plenary sessions, ceremonies will be held to award the winners of the Sixth International Competition for Young Scientists of Russia and Kazakhstan “Historical destinies of the Orenburg region and the Urals” and the Third Regional Olympiad “History of Russia through the history of the region: Orenburg region”
Within the framework of the conference, with the support of the Russian Society “Knowledge”, the “Starship Troopers” project will operate: leading world-famous scientists have prepared open lectures for students of the Faculty of History of the OGPU and everyone interested in debatable problems of history.
