Head of the RF IC Alexander Bastrykin ordered to initiate a criminal case due to the fact that in the Sormovsky district of Nizhny Novgorod, a disabled person and a single father with a six-year-old child were moved to a “collapsing barracks,” the department said in a statement.

It is noted that information about the “unsatisfactory living conditions” of a Nizhny Novgorod resident appeared on social networks.

The administration of the Sormovsky district commented that the Nizhny Novgorod resident himself chose the barracks to live in, writes Kommersant-Privolzhye.

Previously, the disabled person owned a share in a residential building, which was declared uninhabitable in December 2023. He was recognized as in need of housing and was put on a waiting list for housing.

For 11 months, a Nizhny Novgorod resident and his child were placed in temporary housing. At the same time, he was offered several room options to choose from, which he refused. Officials claim that he himself chose the barracks where he now lives and where renovations were done before moving.
