The Kursk Regional Court began considering a criminal case against two residents of Kursk, accused of creating a laboratory for the production of synthetic drugs on an especially large scale.

According to investigators, in 2022, two men decided to systematically illegally produce mephedrone and sell it to drug users via the Internet. To implement their criminal intent, they decided to equip a home-made stationary laboratory for the production of narcotic drugs on the territory of the SNT of the Kursk region in the basement of a house. They found instructions for producing the drug on the Internet.

At the beginning of 2023, they produced more than 5.7 kg of the drug. According to the investigation, the defendants packaged part of the drug in two bags, which they put in their backpacks and intended to sell, but were detained upon leaving the home.

The men could face life imprisonment, the joint press service of the judicial system of the Kursk region reported.
