At a meeting in Moscow, Governor Mikhail Evraev presented projects for the development of sports and tourism infrastructure in the region to Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Dmitry Chernyshenko.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the Yaroslavl region receives significant financial support from the federal budget for the construction of sports facilities, including within the framework of the federal projects “Sport is the norm of life” and “Business Sprint”.

– Russian President Vladimir Putin has set the goal of increasing the number of people systematically involved in sports to 70% by 2030, so it is necessary to actively involve citizens in regular physical education. In addition, continue the development of sports infrastructure so that as many people as possible have the opportunity to play sports, and athletes increase their competitive activity,” noted Dmitry Chernyshenko.

The level of provision with sports facilities in the Yaroslavl region is 53.7%. By the end of 2023, almost 51% of the region’s residents are involved in physical education.

– The Yaroslavl region occupies a leading position in the field of physical culture and mass sports. The region has enormous tourism potential. Four of the nine cities of the Golden Ring – Yaroslavl, Rostov, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Uglich – are located with us,” noted Mikhail Evraev. – From this point of view, projects for the development of sports and tourism are of great importance; we are developing infrastructure, including thanks to federal support.

Mikhail Evraev presented Dmitry Chernyshenko with projects for the construction of five sports and recreation complexes with swimming pools on the territory of municipalities, an indoor skating rink with artificial ice and a multi-purpose hall in Uglich, as well as the modernization of the Temp pool in Rybinsk. The required amount of federal funding for these facilities is 2 billion rubles. Applications for their inclusion in the state program “Development of Physical Culture and Sports” have already been sent to the Russian Ministry of Sports.

The head of the region also introduced Dmitry Chernyshenko to projects for the modernization and further development of the Shinnik stadium and the reconstruction of the velodrome in Yaroslavl.

Tourism, as Mikhail Evraev noted, is one of the drivers of economic development in the region. In terms of the dynamics of tourist flow, the region ranks first in the Central Federal District. The number of overnight tourists has doubled: last year – about 3 million people, excursionists – 9 million people.

– As our President Vladimir Putin notes, tourism opens up new development prospects for the regions and serves as a point of growth. Opportunities in this area need to be implemented as efficiently as possible,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko. – Given the growing demand for travel, it is necessary to accelerate the creation of tourism infrastructure, including modern and affordable hotels. I am glad that the region is actively using the tools of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry”. This will create new jobs and stimulate economic growth.

In recent years, the hotel room stock in the region has significantly increased. Today it is about 9 thousand numbers. And the work continues.

Thus, at the Rybinsk Seaside resort, a project for the construction of the Koprino Posad hotel complex is being implemented. It is planned to construct two hotel buildings “3 stars” and “4 stars”, a new yacht club, transport and engineering infrastructure facilities. The total investment volume is 8.2 billion rubles. The number of rooms being created will attract more than 50 thousand additional tourists annually and create 400 new jobs.

– For the development of domestic tourism in the cities of the Golden Ring, it is important to resolve the issue of transport accessibility. It is necessary to increase traffic lanes on the M8 highway in a number of sections from the border of the Vladimir and Yaroslavl regions to the village of Petrovskoye, Rostov region. This issue was also discussed today with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko,” said Mikhail Evraev.

The governor also asked to support the development of the Yaroslavl Zoo, which won the “Zoo of the Year” nomination of the All-Russian park award “Parks of Russia”. An investment project has been developed that provides for the expansion of the existing exhibition, as well as the construction of an amusement park, a cable car, improvement of a park area of 13.2 hectares, the creation of an eco-trail and ski slopes, as well as three restaurants and a hotel complex.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed confidence that this cluster will become another tourist magnet, especially for families with children.

At the meeting, the issue of creating on the basis of the Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University named after P.A. was raised. Solovyov campus “Mercury”. Let us remind you that the university also entered the top 5 winners of the competition of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science for the creation and development of advanced engineering schools (AES).

The project to create a campus in Rybinsk is important for solving the tasks set by the President of Russia in the field of technological and personnel sovereignty of the country.

– The creation of a campus in the Yaroslavl region will create modern and comfortable conditions for training engineers of the new generation. This is not just a large-scale project, but a most important task for the economy of the region and the entire country,” emphasized Mikhail Evraev. – All this will have a positive impact on solving the problem of ensuring accelerated import substitution and technological sovereignty in the field of gas turbine construction for our aviation, navy and energy sector.

In 2025, Russia will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the death of Patriarch Tikhon of Moscow, who was Archbishop of Yaroslavl and Rostov from 1907 to 1914. Mikhail Evraev asked to support the inclusion of regional sites associated with the name of the saint in the program of events in preparation for the significant date. We are talking, in particular, about the completion of the construction of St. Tikhon’s Church in the Dzerzhinsky district of Yaroslavl.

Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that the Government of the Russian Federation will support the Yaroslavl region in its progressive development.
