In the coming years, Samara’s tram and trolleybus fleet is expected to be updated. According to 63.ru, in 2024 it is planned to purchase at least three new three-section trams. From 2025 to 2027, Samara should receive another 30 such trams.
Head of the Information and Analytics Department of the Samara City Hall Elena Ryzhkova confirmed that there really is an intention. The issue of financing is currently being worked out.
In 2022, the city leased 12 trams from Belarus, which were delivered in several batches in the second half of 2023.
