The authorities of Karelia dealt with a local deputy who spoke out against the destruction of OMK

At its meeting, the Olonets City Council censured and deprived deputy Artem Ilyin of his powers, who held several actions in support of the Olonets Dairy Plant.

In particular, in March, Artem organized a 150-kilometer run to Petrozavodsk to draw attention to the attempt to destroy OMK through a tax audit, which discovered that the plant allegedly underpaid 302 million rubles in taxes. In order to collect them, tax officials have already prepared to seize the accounts and property of the enterprise, which will certainly cause its shutdown, which the authorities of Karelia, headed by Governor Artur Parfenchikov, have been leading OMK to for a long time.

It is not surprising that anyone who tries to stop these plans is immediately put under pressure. Olonets deputy Artem Ilyin was also included in their number for an overly active position. At today’s session of the City Council, two questions were personally addressed to him. On the deprivation of Ilyin’s powers on the basis that he allegedly did not provide information on income for 2023. And that Ilyin violated the rules of parliamentary ethics when he reproached the rest of the deputy corps for indifference to the fate of the last large enterprise in the city, which employs more than 200 Olonsk residents and which is the main taxpayer in the area.

— I spoke out on social networks that out of 15 deputies, only I am not a member of United Russia, and therefore they do not support the Olonets Dairy Plant – the party does not allow them. They were offended by this and created a commission to investigate,” Artem Ilyin explained to the Daily.

It is easy to guess that the denouement of this story during the meeting was the almost unanimous decision of the Olonets United Russia members (11 out of 13 deputies present were in favor) to deprive deputy Ilyin of his powers and censure him for calling a spade a spade. In fact, Olonets deputies showed that they not only do not care about the future of their city and its residents, who will lose jobs and taxes to solve numerous local problems, but also that only the opinion of the governor, who does not even want to hear about OMK, is important to them and its development.

However, ordinary Olonsk residents understand what’s what, and on social networks they express their support for Artem Ilyin, against whom local United Russia members have taken up arms:

— Attended a meeting of deputies of the Olonetsky urban settlement. It was the first and last time… Everything in our region is wonderful – excellent medicine, high-level sports, civil defense – God bless everyone. All reports were received almost with a bang! Only one deputy is ruining the whole Olonets mess. You see, he dared to criticize his fellow deputies and paid for it – they deprived him of his deputy mandate!.. After this meeting, I wanted to take a shower, wash myself… It’s a shame for our elected representatives! But it’s a double-edged sword!

– “Bravo”! The authorities work well, promptly, without delay. Artyom, of course, is not naive, so as not to assume that something like this would happen to him after expressing his civic position, and nevertheless expressed it. Respect to him!

– Artem, hold on! God is next to you. And the enemies of the house will find everything, both for themselves and for their family and friends. Life is long and will not end tomorrow, neither for some administration workers, nor for some deputies… They have to live with this for the rest of their lives.
