The situation with the second “wave” of the heating season was commented on by the head of the Kaliningrad administration, Elena Dyatlova. As the city manager said after an operational meeting at City Hall on Wednesday, April 24, in Kaliningrad they will not charge heating payments for May if the batteries are not turned off in the first days of the last spring month:
We monitor the temperature. We will turn it off only when there is a stable plus. We will not start the heating season in Kaliningrad for the third time. Plus it’s getting to the end of the week, the decision will be made based on the weather forecast. If we move to a few days in May, we will not issue an invoice for May.
Let us remind you that earlier in an interview with RIA Baltic Plus, the director of the Kaliningradteploseti MP Maxim Fedoseev said that a case when the heating in Kaliningrad was first turned off and then turned on has already happened. “It was about 20 years ago,” the expert clarified. Fedoseev told how much effort it took to restart the heating: “For the enterprise itself and the management company, this was another event. It’s not for nothing that during the inter-heating season we are preparing for the next heat supply. Now all this had to be done from my knees, very quickly. Almost all houses were connected to heating. But of course it’s stressful.”
