Avoid getting caught in a sweaty armpit: Rostovites talk about discomfort in public transport

The author of the publication considers commuting to work a challenge.

“You have to work really hard to keep your shoes clean and not get your sweaty armpits in a crowd of people. And there always comes a moment when everyone realizes that there is no more room inside, but a couple more people are guaranteed to poke their heads inside, pushing everyone in their path. I don’t understand, is it so difficult for the mayor’s office or the Ministry of Transport to add a couple of new buses to the routes?” – says the author.

In the comments, Rostovites also shared their thoughts about problems with city transport.

“There are no drivers, now a driver earns 120-150 thousand in a commercial company! There’s no point in taking public transport if you can find a better job!” – said Maria Shevchenko.

Viktor Glazunov believes that the situation with the lack of buses has persisted for many years.

“We moved to Rostov in 2017, and nothing has really changed since then. They loudly announced transport reform, but in fact the situation is getting worse and worse every day. The number of drivers is getting smaller and smaller, and the adequacy of the remaining ones is also getting smaller. Electric buses have appeared, but they are of no use either; what is the point of a new type of transport if it also stands idle at stops for 10–15 minutes?” – Viktor Glazunov shared.

A resident of Western Evgeniya shared complaints about electric bus No. 88 with the DON 24 news agency.

“You get on another bus, and then “hop”, and 88 passes by, and you have already chosen a different route and overpaid for transport (deciding to go with a transfer – editor’s note), and the break of half an hour between these buses is too long. And the 88 electric bus also turns around and goes around the entire railway and bus station, making two stops there, and sometimes you can hang around the railway for 15 minutes because of this, it would be better if it went like 67 right under the Sievers Bridge. The drivers are untidy, smoke constantly and sometimes miss stops,” said Rostov resident Evgenia.

The girl added that in not a single electric bus on route 88 did she see a completed board with information about the driver, which is necessary when filing a complaint.

The lack of data on the information board is not uncommon for public transport in Rostov. Previously, a passenger on bus No. 7 complained about this problem.

User Valeria Volkova recommended walking more, because 5–7 km is not the longest distance.

“True, you’ll have to get up a little earlier. For several years I have been walking to work and back home. And I walked, and improved my health, and listened to music. She came to work cheerful and cheerful. I recommend it as the perfect cure for whining about public transport,” she wrote.

Sergei Potanin said that due to problems with public transport, he switched to a bicycle. This helped him improve his health, save on travel costs and not ride the bus like “sprats in a can.”

Previously, the administration told where to call if the air conditioning on the bus does not work. According to our readers, at the time of the complaint, the call center operator was very surprised by the problem with the stuffiness on the bus. The interlocutor, referring to the failure to sign the document regulating the inclusion of the air conditioner, said that drivers are not obliged to do this.
