The police began an investigation into the morning accident in the Verkhnekhava district, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region reported.
The accident occurred today at 9.15 on the 46th km of the Panino – Verkhnyaya Khava – Malaya Privalovka highway. Here, a 42-year-old local resident drove his Lada Kalina car at speed into the oncoming lane, where he crashed into an oncoming Lada Granta car, driven by a 35-year-old motorist.
The collision led to dire consequences. A 41-year-old woman traveling in a Lada Kalina died on the spot. Ambulances took four more people to hospitals: a 47-year-old passenger in the Kalina, the driver and an 18-year-old girl from the Lada Granta.
